BASH (Business Associates of St Leonards and Hastings) is a networking group for small business owners, sole traders, and freelancers based in Hastings and St Leonards On Sea It’s a relaxed and informal opportunity to come together to share challenges, find potential collaborators, and learn from each other. Writing for Healing with Finley de Witt

Writing for Healing with Finley de Witt   Saturday 29th March, 2-3.30pm Barnaby's Lounge £10 or £15 to include a copy of Lovebroken    To book, email finleyinhastings@gmail.com    Research shows that writing thoughtfully about difficult experiences can create greater resilience and improved immune function, as well as a range of other benefits (Greater Good Science Center, et al).  This warmhearted workshop is for anyone who'd like to write to support their well-being, or who wants to tackle difficult personal subjects in a constructive way.  The session will explore what works and what to avoid when writing for health and happiness, plus ways to get started and how to support your writing process.  Suitable for those writing for themselves as well as anyone interested in memoir/life writing or simply wanting to bring more personal aspects into their work. Finley de Witt (they/them) is a writer and trauma specialist.  Their memoir, Lovebroken, about recovery from repressed childhood trauma was published in January 2024.  They have worked as an editor for fiction writers and taught creative writing to all levels across the UK. Gordon Hulbert Jazz Quartet

Gordon Hulbert is a musician whose career spans a broad range of musical styles and activities. Originally trained at the Royal College of Music, his credits cover many contemporary styles. As a musical director and side-man he has toured and played with funk and soul artists Chaka Khan, The Temptations, Alexander O’Neal, Heatwave, Imagination and Odyssey; world artists Salif Keita, Hugh Masekela, Lui Sola and Unnati Dasgupta; pop and dance artists Imogen Heap, Psapp, Anastacia, Gabrielle, Suzie Quatro, Tony Hadley, Alison Limerick, Angie Brown, Anita Kelsey and Kenny Thomas. Hastings based, Gordon still runs a recording studio in the heart of Notting Hill, London, where dance acts such as Stonebridge, Fedde Le Grande and Tiesto have come for his production skills and alongside Bill Laswell, Gordon co-produced the original soundtrack to Moving The Mountain – a BBC documentary by Michael Apted and Trudy Styler about the Tien An Mien Square massacre, composed by the celebrated Chinese composer and novelist Liu Sola. Open Mic Hosted by Konarucchi

On Tuesday 1st of April at 7pm we'll be introducing our first open mic night! Anyone of any skill level is welcome, you don't need to bring anything (but can if you want to), we will supply a PA, guitar and piano.
