    Mike Hext - Valve Trombone ! Alex Bryson - piano. Terry Pack - bass Mike Hext runs Robertsbridge Jazz Club and also plays lead trombone in the Barnaby’s Lounge Big Band. He was the first EVER BBC Young Musician of the Year…in 1978. He’s still principal trombone at The Royal Opera House after 30 years. As a studio musician, Mike has played on over 300 film soundtracks including Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Harry Potter & Bridget Jones. He’s also played with many of the top UK jazz artists…and taught Barnaby trombone in 1990 but the less said about that the better

    Hastings Jazz Festival Presents.... Barnaby’s Big Band is a taste of the high life. Soaring brass and saxophones bring big time dynamics, the rhythm-section locks us in & Hastings most recognisable voices take the top line. Barnaby & Co always bring us a show. Don’t miss it. It’s the Christmas One innit? This edition features the vocal talents of Liane Carroll, Donna Canale, Chantelle Duncan and Annie Majin. An afternoon spectacular featuring a healthy combo of seasonal and standard favourites. Once the band and singers are paid off, we will be raising funds to kickstart the next edition of Hastings Jazz Fest!

    Every Monday Markus Thonett will be offering regular sessions for artists and art students to discuss any aspect of art. That includes but is not limited to any difficulties, challenges, ideas, questions and fantasies related to making art. No agenda other than whatever you would like to talk about.
