Drawn from the Well Saturday, 30th August 2025, 12 noon to 2pm: The Hastings Book Festival Fringe presents a a storytelling, art and writing workshop with Stephanie Chamberlain Come along with your art materials and curious minds, and listen to one of Stephanie's intriguing and beautifully visual tales from The Story Well, to which you will have the rare opportunity of responding to with your own images or writing in real-time, as you are transported into images, emotions, and the lovely setting of Barnaby's Lounge with other creatives in reflective action. Afterwards, there will be the option to wander around the space and see the responses of those who choose to share on the day. NO tall easels, oils or acrylics, please. No booking necessary. Suggested donation on the day £5 to £10. A bit about Stephanie: Having written poetry for over forty years, Stephanie has more recently been experimenting with different forms of flash fiction and short stories. Robbie has won prizes for Outstanding Musicianship and Composition. He was a national finalist in the Young Jazz Musician of the Year and the runner up in the Perrier Young Jazz Musician. He plays regularly with Hans Koller, the Gareth Lockrane Septet, Alcyona Mick Quintet, The Calum Gourlay Big Band and the London Jazz Orchestra. He has also worked with Sir John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Lane, Phil Woods, Mike Gibbs, Evan Parker, Jamie Cullum, and the James Taylor Quartet. He has recently recorded albums with both Bill Frisell and Steve Swallow DO NOT MISS THIS :)

Musician and singer-songwriter Glen Gholizadeh will be hosting a weekly jam session at Barnaby's Lounge every Monday night. Come to listen, play, sing, dance, eat, drink... Enjoy. We will be playing different styles of music throughout the evening and every jam will be a unique experience.
