Adrian York’s Jazz Reprobates brings together three hugely experienced musicians with deep roots in the UK jazz scene. Pianist Adrian York, recently described by Katie Derham on BBC Radio 3 as a “pianist extraordinaire,” has performed with artists including Ian Shaw, Claire Martin, Kenny Wheeler, Iain Ballamy, Mornington Lockett, Jean Toussaint, Barb Jungr, Nigel Price and Alan Barnes. He also began his career with 1980s pop band Roman Holliday, who are now back out on the road. Joining him are Mark Fletcher, a powerhouse drummer who has worked with the Ronnie Scott Quintet, Ian Shaw and Michel Legrand, and Paul Whitten, a stalwart of the Brighton jazz scene who has performed with jazz legends including Chet Baker. Expect sophisticated, swinging jazz from three musicians who know exactly how to make a trio come alive. A night of serious musicianship, great swing and plenty of character — early table booking recommended.
