Hyphae Collective Poetry & Music Jam | Live Poetry & Music in Hastings

Third Thursday of the month | 7pm
What happens when poetry meets live music, improvisation takes the lead, and nobody quite knows where the next verse will go?
The Hyphae Collective Poetry & Music Jam brings poets, musicians and singers together at Barnaby’s Lounge for an evening of spontaneous collaboration, experimental sound and unexpected creative connections.
Bring your own words, borrow someone else’s, pick up an instrument or simply follow the rhythm. Working alongside the house band, performers weave together poetry and music in a constantly evolving exchange. One moment might lead into a looping poem; the next could take an entirely unexpected turn. Nothing is quite the same twice, and that’s precisely the point.
More than an open mic, Hyphae is a space for creative exploration: a meeting place for people who tell stories through words, sounds and everything in between.
Everyone is welcome. Hyphae Collective is a queer- and trans-friendly event, and newcomers are encouraged to join in or come along to listen.
