Rattlebag are a fabulous acapella harmony group, who celebrate their 20th birthday anniversary of keeping the old songs alive this year. They are well known from Jack in the Green and have a big local following from their regular singing nights and wassailing in the changing seasons. Their Facebook page Table booking recommended. Robbie studied jazz at both Leeds and Guildhall Schools of Music, where he won prizes for Outstanding Musicianship and Composition. He was a national finalist in the Young Jazz Musician of the Year 1999, and the runner up in the Perrier Young Jazz Musician 2000. He is active on the contemporary Jazz scene in London, playing regularly at Ronnie Scott’s, The 606, the Vortex jazz clubs with many different groups including the Matt Wates Quintet, Frank Griffiths Nonet, Hans Koller, Gareth Lockrane Septet, Alcyona Mick Quintet, The Calum Gourlay Big Band, the Million Dollar Big Band, and the London Jazz Orchestra. He has also worked with Sir John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Lane, Phil Woods, Mike Gibbs, Evan Parker, Jamie Cullum, and the James Taylor Quartet. He has recently recorded albums with both Bill Frisell and Steve Swallow. Robbie is one of the musicians that make up the ‘Loop Collective’ and his own band, Dog Soup, has received much critical acclaim from press and audiences alike. Robbie has been a Professor on the teaching staff at the Guildhall School of Music for the past 8 years.
Based in the UK but raised on a farm in Wicklow, Ireland, Phil Cosby’s songwriting has led him to work with an array of world-class musicians. Having teamed up with studio legend Phill Brown (The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix), and acclaimed drummer/producer Malcolm Catto (DJ Shadow, Madlib), 2020 saw the release of Blue Daze, Cosby's most exciting project to date. Guitarist Paul Malsom has a wide range of musical influences. Ranging from Jazz to Blues to Latin and Soul, Funk and Rock. This is a ONE hour set with Reg Hendrickse on flute. Jazz includes George Benson to Pat Metheny ,Blues includes BB King to Robben Ford. Latin includes Santana and Charlie Byrd ,and Soul to Rock includes Jimi Hendrix to Steve Cropper. Paul has been working as a professional musician for many years ,working all over the UK and abroad. From small clubs to Theatres to International Guitar festivals, including support sets for 10 CC, Georgie Fame and Tommy Emmanuel. Paul has also demonstrated guitars for Korg UK ,Takamine and Ovation as well as releasing a number of CDs under his own name and in collaboration with other artists
Jo Stout has performed all over the UK in venues as diverse as London's O2 Arena, The NEC, The Albert Hall, The Vortex, The Spice of Life, The Blues Kitchen…and Butlins! Most recently he played at Brighton Jazz Festival with his own group 'Terrarium'; a 6 piece band playing Jo's own composition's on a 'world jazz' theme. Tom Millar is a London-based pianist, composer and bandleader, playing with Jo Stout’s “Terrarium”, the Andrew Linham Jazz Orchestra, the Matt Sulzmann/Tom Millar quartet, and Way Out West jazz collective as well as with his own projects, from solo to nonet. His music has been heard on BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM, and he has performed all over the UK and Ireland, as well as in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Holland, Dubai, Qatar, and the USA. "Millar's writing is part of a lineage of polished modernism whose building blocks are to be found in the holy trinity of Herbie, Chick and Bill Evans, but whose additional masonry has pleasing echoes of their scions, namely Pat Metheny and Brian Blade.
