Markus & Tessa Art Exhibition Fundraiser Party 6.00pm

All icons in this 10-day art show will be less than half price! ONLY £100! Catch them while you can! This is a fundraiser to help cover a period of 4 to 6 months, where Markus Thonett will be out of action due to an operation to remove a cancer from his abdominal region in late April or early May. There will be a raffle at the party with great prizes, including works of art and 4 hours of 1-to-1 professional business coaching for artists. We also have a GoFundMe. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps cover living costs while Markus heals. Please consider clicking the link to donate or sharing it with others who might help. Paul Malsom Jazz 6.30pm

Guitarist Paul Malsom has a wide range of musical influences. Ranging from Jazz to Blues to Latin and Soul, Funk and Rock. This is a ONE hour set with Reg Hendrickse on flute. Jazz includes George Benson to Pat Metheny ,Blues includes BB King to Robben Ford. Latin includes Santana and Charlie Byrd ,and Soul to Rock includes Jimi Hendrix to Steve Cropper. Paul has been working as a professional musician for many years ,working all over the UK and abroad. From small clubs to Theatres to International Guitar festivals, including support sets for 10 CC, Georgie Fame and Tommy Emmanuel. Paul has also demonstrated guitars for Korg UK ,Takamine and Ovation as well as releasing a number of CDs under his own name and in collaboration with other artists

Jo Stout Jazz Trio 8.30pm

Jo Stout has performed all over the UK in venues as diverse as London's O2 Arena, The NEC, The Albert Hall, The Vortex, The Spice of Life, The Blues Kitchen…and Butlins! Most recently he played at Brighton Jazz Festival with his own group 'Terrarium'; a 6 piece band playing Jo's own composition's on a 'world jazz' theme. Tom Millar is a London-based pianist, composer and bandleader, playing with Jo Stout’s “Terrarium”, the Andrew Linham Jazz Orchestra, the Matt Sulzmann/Tom Millar quartet, and Way Out West jazz collective as well as with his own projects, from solo to nonet. His music has been heard on BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM, and he has performed all over the UK and Ireland, as well as in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Holland, Dubai, Qatar, and the USA. "Millar's writing is part of a lineage of polished modernism whose building blocks are to be found in the holy trinity of Herbie, Chick and Bill Evans, but whose additional masonry has pleasing echoes of their scions, namely Pat Metheny and Brian Blade. Loose Ends Trio 3.00pm

Loose Ends Trio.....are.... Frank Jasper on Lead guitar. Phil Warren on Bass Phil White on Vocals,Guitar and Ukulele. 'We first performed together at the 2012 Conquest Hospital Show when Frank and Phil White worked for the NHS. It was great fun and we decided to give it a go as a band. Our first gigs were mainly due to word of mouth at outdoor venues and private functions. Our music has been described as"jazzy easy listening," with an eclectic mix of songs'

The Velvet Rays 8.00pm

Louise Driscoll has recently re-launched her band The Velvet Rays, a dynamic 3 piece playing original melodic & sometimes haunting indie style pop. Louise is a singer songwriter with a distinct & soaring voice, she plays both Acoustic & electric guitars with interesting effects that enhance her songs. The band also play a select few popular cover song interpretations. On Bass is Ben Sumner who has performed with Oli Spleen and the Smithmancers and The Holloway Jug Band, and has performed in various punk & Americana bands across London. Paul Moon the drummer was most recently a member of local high energy folk band Fire in The Meadow and has played with Jason McNiff, a local Folk/Americana & Country artist, and Deep Ease, an acoustic blues / pop trio. Prior to moving to Hastings he was playing & recording in London. The Velvet Rays are based in Hastings. They will be recording during 2025

Mosaic Triangle 1.30pm

Lynda Murray band leader, saxophonist, composer and teacher (now retired) has been living in Hastings since 1986. (The Street Cafe Bar and Hastings Jazz Club) as well as organising a two day jazz festival that featured Julian Joseph, Toni Kofi, Liam Noble and Winston Clifford among other notable Uk jazz scene musicians. She says it’s wonderful to welcome Paul Whiten, notably "the best jazz bassist in the South of England" by promoters of the Swanage Jazz Festival. And Yair Katz, popular local drummer/percussionist with an MA in World Music and working as a music therapist.

Lily Ramona 4.30pm

Lily Ramona started singing in pubs at 8 years old, then formed the folk/country trio the HANK DOGS with her dad and step-mum. Signed and produced by Joe Boyd (Nick Drake, Incredible String Band, REM) they toured the world, including a US tour supporting Joan Baez. Now Lily writes her own songs. With renewed passion and inspiration, Lily released an Indie Folk solo acoustic EP 'Into the Mirror' with Trevor Moss and the A.P.R.C. Likened to Joni Mitchell and Suzanne Vega, Lily creates a sound which is both traditional and modern

‘StoryWell’ Fantasy-Folkish Tales 11.00am

Thursday 24th April - 11am-12;30 - Upstairs in Barnaby's Lounge Come along to one of Stephanie’s fantasy-folkish tales! These are soul stories drawn from a collective well; story-lines to stand in, ponder on, and journey through. Ethereal tales, dream-hinged and heart-slanted. Afterwards, you are invited to share your reflections on what may have come up for you as you  journeyed with the story’s themes, archetypes, atmosphere, and other contents

Helen McCookery Book 7.00pm

Helen McCookerybook was founder member of the bands The Chefs and Helen and the Horns, both of which recorded numerous sessions for John Peel, and released material on independent labels. Now a solo artist, she gigs in the UK, Europe and beyond and features regularly on BBC6 music

Dan Foster Jazz Trio 8.30pm

Royal Academy of music graduate, Dan Foster Dan formed Kairos Ensemble in 2001. The ensemble have produced five albums to date: The River (2002), Psalms Live (2004), Psalms (2006), Passion Suite (2010) and Rejoicing Blues (2013). A further project based on much loved hymns is in the pipeline as they continue to play together. The group has toured extensively in the UK and France and been featured on both BBC Radio 3 and 4. Dan has had the privilege of playing with some wonderful musicians in the worlds of both jazz and pop. To name just a few: John Etheridge, Mike Garrick, Pasadena Roof Orchestra, London Jazz Orchestra, Tony Hadley, Chris de Burgh, Graham Kendrick, Geraldine Latty, Alex Wilson… Talking Heads frontman David Byrne (a childhood hero) used Freefrom Five’s remix of his hit song ‘Lazy’ on his world tour – a track Dan had written and recorded the brass lines for. Featuring veteran jazz guitarist Stu Jackaman and James Sunney on bass, it's another all-star jazz line-up at Barnaby's Lounge

Amber & Andy’s Jazz, Folk & Pop 8.00pm

Amber Leafe is the lead singer in the Amber Shift Trio. Andy Williams honed his skills playing in bars, hotels and cruise ships, enjoyed a long residency at London’s Pizza on the Park venue and has performed at Ronnie Scott's club and the Royal Albert Hall – as well as the Blue Note jazz club and BB King's bar in New York's Times Square. He has worked with many of Britain’s finest jazz musicians, including his father the celebrated trombonist Roy Williams. Fantastic duo. Table booking recommended
