Richard Erickson Jazz Quintet | Live Jazz in Hastings
Friday 6 November 2026 | 8.30pm
An evening of jazz, blues and spontaneous improvisation awaits at Barnaby’s Lounge as pianist, vocalist and composer Richard Erickson brings together five accomplished musicians for a night of expressive, adventurous live music.
With a career spanning the UK and United States, Richard has performed at celebrated London venues including the 606 Club and Southbank Centre. His musical journey has taken him from jazz clubs to theatre and contemporary dance, developing a distinctive approach to composition and improvisation.
Joining him is Greg Heath on tenor saxophone, a remarkable musician whose extensive career includes performances and recordings with Van Morrison, John Etheridge, Maceo Parker and Dr John.
Completing the quintet are C.J. Berry on guitar, Dan Dotor on double bass and Hogarth Hannam on drums, bringing together a rich combination of musical personalities.
Bassist Dan Dotor has toured Australia, France and Russia and performed at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s. Throughout his career, he has played alongside an impressive range of musicians, including Derek Nash, Jim Mullen, Chloe Du’Pre, Andy Walker and the remarkable Drawtones.
Expect soulful melodies, blues-infused piano, expressive saxophone and the kind of musical conversation that makes live jazz so compelling. With five musicians responding to one another in the moment, no two performances are ever quite the same.
Enjoy an intimate Friday evening of live jazz in Hastings, with delicious seasonal food, served until 9pm.
