Martin Blackman is a Hastings born singer songwriter and quitar/harmonica player. In the late 80s he and his brother Dave were founding members of successful local band SoulXpress.

In the early 90s Martin And Dave formed The Blackman Brothers Band, who played venues and functions around the South East and became one of the headline acts at the legendary Black Horse Festival.

After the untimely death of Dave, Martin carried on as The Martin Blackman Band and now plays gigs as the band/trio/duo/solo, or as Rule Of 3 with various guest players, including Steeleye Span bass/vocals Roger Carey and multi instrumentalist/vocals Johr Steel and percussionist/vocals Kate Stephenson.
