For lovers of straight-ahead jazz, soulful improvisation and exceptional musicianship, the Jonas Larsson Quartet brings together four accomplished musicians for an evening of rich sounds, spontaneous musical conversations and adventurous playing. Led by Swedish-born, England-based guitarist and multidisciplinary artist Jonas Larsson, the quartet draws on influences ranging from blues and rock ’n’ roll to jazz, jazz-rock and contemporary improvisation.

Jonas’s musical journey has been shaped by some remarkable collaborations, including working with Swedish jazz pianist Åke Johansson and celebrated vocalist Svante Thuresson. Alongside music, his creative work spans visual art and poetry, with his artwork selected by Louie Vega of Masters at Work for his album Lust, and one of his poems chosen for a memorial monument in Thailand commemorating victims of the 2004 tsunami.

Joining Jonas is acclaimed tenor saxophonist Greg Heath, whose career includes performances and recordings with artists such as Van Morrison, Roy Ayers, Maceo Parker, Dr John, Joan Armatrading, Omar, Jim Mullen and John Etheridge. On bass, Terry Pack provides the groove and musical foundation, while powerhouse drummer James Chapman brings extensive studio and live experience, combining energy, versatility and precision.

Expect swinging jazz, soulful grooves, powerful improvisation and plenty of musical surprises as these four musicians come together at Barnaby’s Lounge. Whether you’re a lifelong jazz fan or simply looking for an exciting afternoon of live music, this is a quartet worth hearing.
