John Harriman is a critically acclaimed Jazz Pianist, Bandleader, Keyboardist and Composer. John performs in a wide range of duos, trios and line-ups with vocalists, sax players and musicians across jazz, latin, pop and rock genres and has toured and played at innumerable clubs and venues in the UK and abroad. Although making his debut as a member of Steeleye Span on this current tour, bassist Roger Carey has had a long association with the band – having formed a duo with fiddle player Peter Knight in the 1980s and played alongside drummer Liam Genockey on numerous occasions. He is probably best known for touring throughout the UK, Europe, USA and Canada with multi award winning pianist Liane Carroll, to whom he is married. He was also part of the Three Friends project, playing the music of and featuring ex members of cult 70’s rock band Gentle Giant. With roots in progressive rock, jazz, blues, folk and a love of early Bob Dylan, Roger is perfectly placed to help steer Steeleye Span through the next chapter of their enduring career.

 

Tony MacDonnell – Drums – the first drummer to graduate from the renowned Jazz & Light Music Course at Leeds College of Music and over a subsequent 60+ year career has played TV & Radio, Recording Sessions, Musical Theatre, Function Bands, Club Tours, Summer Season, Cabaret and even Grand Opera as well as Jazz – Big Band, Swing & Be Bop, Traditional, Dixieland & Period Bands. Jazz credits include John Dankworth, Tubby Hayes, Joe Harriott, Salena Jones, Elaine Delmar, Will Gaines, Bill Le Sage, Michael Garrick , Henry Lowther, Danny Moss, Jimmy Hastings, The Terry Giles Sextet, The Dave Smith Trio, The Cotton Club Orchestra and a 12 month professional jazz club residency with The Harvey Morris Trio. He is also the house drummer of the Hastings’ “Jazz Organisation” for the past 15 years.
