Saturday, 30th August 2025, 12 noon to 2pm: The Hastings Book Festival Fringe presents a a storytelling, art and writing workshop with Stephanie Chamberlain
Come along with your art materials and curious minds, and listen to one of Stephanie’s intriguing and beautifully visual tales from The Story Well, to which you will have the rare opportunity of responding to with your own images or writing in real-time, as you are transported into images, emotions, and the lovely setting of Barnaby’s Lounge with other creatives in reflective action. Afterwards, there will be the option to wander around the space and see the responses of those who choose to share on the day.
NO tall easels, oils or acrylics, please.
No booking necessary. Suggested donation on the day £5 to £10.
A bit about Stephanie:
Having written poetry for over forty years, Stephanie has more recently been experimenting with different forms of flash fiction and short stories. Stephanie regularly holds storytelling sessions at Barnaby’s Lounge. She has also been invited to do readings of her stories and poems at different local community events, such as the Hastings Garden Festival, Church-in-the-Wood Orchard, and private celebrations.
Over the years, Stephanie has had many of her poems published in regular pamphlets and creative writing websites, and in some ‘Survivors’ magazines, and a few in a series of broader poetry competition anthologies; and is in the process of exploring publishing her collections of both poetry and stories.
Stephanie lives in the Hastings & St. Leonards area, enjoying being nourished by the vast array of diversity here, in terms of the wonderful multi-cultured community, gorgeous natural environments, extraordinary amount of creativity, and the various and exciting activities and events, and more!
